The Merrimac Ferry

This historic ferry has been transporting passengers and vehicles across the Wisconsin River since 1844, providing a scenic and convenient way to explore the region. This ride takes only 7 minutes and connects Columbia and Sauk Counties.

The Merrimac Ferry operates from April-November each year, with extended hours during the peak summer season. As you cross the river, you'll be treated to stunning views of the surrounding countryside and the chance to spot local wildlife. The ferry's free service and convenient location make it a popular attraction for both residents and visitors alike.
